Kentish Canteen – Kentish Town

Arriving at Kentish Canteen on a Sunday for a friend’s birthday, it was jam packed. An eye catching collage on one of the walls was a great feature. Various breakfasts and lunches were being brought out as we waited in the entrance for the table.

Royal China – Bayswater

Sundays are a great time to see friends over a spot of brunch. This time it was brunch with a difference – a dim sum one! Royal China is a popular place and luckily as we had got there before noon, we didn’t have to queue.

Chutneys – Euston

Towards the upper end of Drummond Street, there is the big burgundy sign of Chutneys. It is an Indian vegetarian restaurant. The interior is fairly simple with wooden chairs and tables and lime green walls.

The Hayloft Restaurant, Boycott Farm – Stowe

A year has passed by fast and with another bambino in our group, it was that time of year for an annual outing with friends. After a wonderful morning at the National Trust Stowe Landscape Gardens, an Afternoon Tea was our indulgence.

La Brocca – West Hampstead

It had been many years ago that I had been to La Brocca and I remember it to have been a lovely restaurant. It was going to be interesting to see if it would still be just as good this time round.

Maroush Bakehouse – Earls Court

A full Lebanese breakfast was on the cards when seeing the menu at Maroush Bakehouse. It seemed like it would make for a nice savoury brunch.

Zupperia – Bergen, Norway

Bergen is a beautiful and charming city and is known as “The Gateway to the Fjords of Norway”! The old wharf of Bergen called Bryggen has a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Marine Ices – Camden Town/Chalk Farm

For all you gelato enthusiasts, such as ourselves, it is a relief to know that the institution that is Marine Ices is not closing down. Instead it is moving to a new location, just down the road, with the shop front marked by the beautiful wisteria tree.
