Cafe Amandine – Prague

Cafe Amandine gave a scrumptious French breakfast in Prague. Coffees to start the day off were an Americano and a decaffeinated Espresso. Both came on individual metal trays accompanied with a glass of water, a jug of milk and a surprise treat of a madeleine.

Sweet or savoury was a hard choice seen as all the pastries looked so tempting. A basket of homemade bread and butter allowed us to sample the many types of breads and baguettes. These included white, brown and seeded. All were delicious and soft and were made even more delightful with the creamy butter.

The croissant came in its own basket. Flaky, buttery and so moreish made this croissant perfect. Soft scrambled eggs with onion was very tasty. The eggs had not been overcooked and maintained the ripples of the yolks and whites. The eggs came with a couple of slices of brown baguette.

The beautiful stained glass style ceiling of Cafe Amandine matched the green and pink stripes of the walls. The interior was clean and spacious. Covered displays showcased the baked and sweet produce. There were signs stating Boulangerie, Patisserie and Brasserie behind the counter which gave Cafe Amandine clear defined sections.

Cafe Amandine paid lovely attention to detail in its presentation of the food. The service and staff were great. This delightful cafe fuelled us with a hearty and relaxed breakfast.
