Sometimes all you need is the classic burger and chips, and who better to share such an evening with, than with the family! Fine Burger Co is decorated with bright orange and white and light spheres hanging from the ceiling. The dining area feels quite spacious and clean. The seating is plastic chairs and wooden tables. There is cushioned seating along one of the walls. In addition, there are also some tables on the outside of the restaurant.

Fine Burger Co has some tables with a computer screen displaying various offers. You can place your order from these screens. A little fore warning about the offers displayed though. On the night that we were there, there was an offer on the dessert. When we enquired about this particular offer, the waitress told us that they knew nothing about the offer and hence they could not offer it.

A couple of starter dishes were chosen. These were the chicken strips and the fried baby squid. The chicken strips were great! The chicken was tender and not greasy. The baby squid on the other hand was slightly disappointing. The squid was extremely chewy. Both starters came with dips.

As I fancied something on the smaller side, I chose the kids meal. This consisted of a burger, fries, salad and ice cream. The kids chicken burger had three very small strips of chargrilled chicken breast. The chicken only filled half of the bread roll. Even though it was a smaller burger, there should have been more filling in it. The bread roll was soft and fresh.

The salad that came with the meal was cucumber strips, tomato and carrot sticks. All of the vegetables were stale and dried out. The salad was left untouched.

The meal was supposed to come with skinny fries but I asked if this could be changed to the hand cut chips. At first, the waitress wasn’t sure if this was possible. After asking her supervisor, they said that they could do this! The hand cut chips were more like potato wedges with nice crispy skins.

The dessert was a scoop of strawberry ice cream. The ice cream was nice enough.

The staff were friendly and gave good service. One of the issues that we had though was that the offers displayed should have been honoured.

Fine Burger Co also serves a good range of milkshakes. These were tempting and if I had the room for it, I would have definitely have tried one!

It’s always nice to meet friends for a weekday lunch, especially when it’s a Friday! So it feels like the weekend has started early! Constolia has a red and blue themed interior. The walls are decorated with various artwork pieces. The dining area is quite spacious.

The staff were friendly and made us feel comfortable. We were given plenty of time to decide on our order and also we were not rushed through the meal. The waiter even put on the heater for us as he thought that the restaurant was slightly cooler than normal!

The meal started off with a cup of mint tea! This was served in a clear glass with the fresh mint leaves and a slice of lemon. As for food, the starters that we chose were the Falafel and the Sigara Boregi. The Falafel were golf ball sized spheres and were made of chickpeas and broad beans. They were very crispy on the outer but had a softer interior. The Falafel were served with houmous.

The Sigara Boregi were filo pastry triangles filled with feta cheese and parsley. These pastries were generously filled with the feta cheese. The downside was that they tasted quite salty and may have been better if they had an additional filling such as spinach.

The starter dishes were very filling. In addition to them, we were served with a big mixed salad, a separate onion salad and warm flatbread.

It was a choice between the two aubergine dishes, Musakka and Imam Bayaldi, for the main meal. The Musakka was a vegetarian bake with cheese. I didn’t fancy something so heavy so chose the Imam Bayaldi.

The Imam Bayaldi was half of a baked aubergine stuffed with vegetables, raisins and pine nuts. It took centre place on the plate of tomato sauce and also came with rice. The whole dish worked well together. The aubergine was cooked well, the vegetables were tender and the tomato sauce had a good flavour to it. It was quite a rich dish and extremely filling.

All the food at Constolia were big portions! It all seemed to be cooked fresh! Constolia is a nice place to come to for a relaxed lunch. They also do takeaway orders!

A late Friday afternoon is how we ended up at Ziloufs! We weren’t sure what we were expecting when we went into Ziloufs. We were after a relaxed afternoon with some tea!

Surprisingly, Ziloufs was a spacious place with a separate dining area and another area near to the bar. There was plenty of light coming into the bar area due to the glass front of Ziloufs. It was nice that there were cosy leather sofas, just what we were looking for!

Ziloufs did serve tea and they did it by the pot! The Earl Grey tea was good. The latte was made of strong coffee and it had a good depth to it.

We had some double cooked potato wedges to snack on. These were served in a big bowl and were steaming hot. It came with some wasabi mayonnaise. I wasn’t too sure if the combination of the wasabi and mayonnaise would work. I thought that the wasabi may give too much heat to the mayonnaise. Actually, the two worked really well together. We were totally satisfied with the wedges and the wasabi mayonnaise!

The staff were really nice and friendly and let us take our time even though we were only having drinks and snacks! It didn’t take long for Ziloufs to get really busy as the afternoon became evening!
