Gourmet Burger Co. – Toronto, Canada

Reviewed on February 6th, 2011 by Dina

Gourmet Burger Co. was a really small restaurant. It had metal tables and high chairs and a few seats along one wall. So, when we entered, there were no empty tables and we nearly left the restaurant to go find somewhere less busy. Lucky for us, a few people were leaving just as we were placing our order!

At Gourmet Burger Co., there is no table service; you have to go to the counter to place your order and also to pick it up!

All of the burgers were of a big generous size and the ingredients seemed fresh. The chicken burger was a popular choice in our group! This burger was a whole chicken breast that had been marinated in lemon and rosemary. The chicken was tender and it was served in a soft white bun.

Gourmet Burger Co. had the tastiest fries! They came in small white cardboard boxes. We had the original fries and also the Poutine. The Poutine were fries that were topped with cheese curds and gravy! The combination worked well!

This burger restaurant was good for its food and the staff were friendly. It’s just a shame that it had very little seating.

Montana’s Cookhouse – Niagara Falls, Canada

Reviewed on September 16th, 2010 by Dina

Montana’s is a great place to go to if you are looking for a hearty meaty meal, although they do have some good vegetarian dishes as well!

To start our feast, we chose the oven-baked antojitos and the four cheese spinach dip. The oven-baked antojitos were bite size tortilla wraps filled with cheese, peppers, onions and jalapenos. They were really moreish and went well with the basil sour cream dip.

The four cheese spinach dip was of a good thick consistency! It had a strong flavour to it and was served with enough crispy pita chips! We could have easily had more of each of these dishes, but then we wouldn’t have had any space for the main course!

As you can guess, one of the main dishes had to be ribs! For that extra meat, the choice of dish was the Ribs ‘N Chicken Combo! The half rack of Hickory Smokehouse Ribs were perfectly cooked: tender succulent juicy ribs with a great flavour. Unfortunately, the BBQ chicken was not as good as the ribs, as it was a little dry.

Boston Pizza – Mississauga, Canada

Reviewed on July 29th, 2010 by Dina

Boston Pizza is a fairly big restaurant with the definite feel of a sports bar! As we were a big group, we were given a long table in the centre of the restaurant.

The chairs were dark heavy metal ones and they had matching tables. There were tv screens around showing various sports, such as golf, baseball and racing!

Boston Pizza had a big menu but we decided to skip the starters and go straight for the pizza. What I liked about Boston Pizza is that you could choose a multigrain base for the pizza or you could just opt for the normal one. Maybe some pizza places in the UK should look into offering such an option!
