For a really special occasion, Portal is the place to go. Exquisite food, excellent service and a wonderful atmosphere is what this restaurant is all about.

Chimichanga – North Finchley
A mid week Mexican lunch meant a visit to Chimichanga. The restaurant is really spacious and has the booth seating on a raised level at the back. The interior is made up of large stone arches and large wooden posts.
Massala Hut – Euston
When a close friend of mine came to visit from Malaysia and he suggested going out for an Indian meal, Drummond Street came to mind. Drummond Street is just behind Euston Station and has plenty of Indian restaurants.
The Cuban – Camden Town
For a lively Friday night out with the combination of tasty food and some dancing, The Cuban will not disappoint. The Cuban has the hip location of being in The Stables part of Camden Market.
Storia – Dubrovnik, Croatia
Storia had a convenient location next to our apartments in Dubrovnik. On this narrow street, there was Storia which is an Italian restaurant and next door to it was a restaurant specialising in fish.
The Blue Legume – Angel
The Blue Legume has never been noticed by myself, the many times that I have walked along Upper Street. It has a unique characteristic blue aubergine-like vegetable artefact as part of its sign.
Pu’s Brasserie – Holborn
Down a small side street off Lincoln Inn’s Field is this wonderful Thai restaurant. Pu’s Brasserie is a small, cosy, intimate kind of a restaurant. It doesn’t have a huge dining area so it would be better to make a reservation to guarantee a table. The restaurant looked bigger due to a huge wall mirror.
Mezza Express – Camden Town
Just a short walk away from Camden Market is Mezza Express. It looks fairly normal from the outside. But once inside, it’s a different story.
Murgatroyds Fish and Chip Restaurant – Yeadon
On a drive from Harrogate to my home village of Saltaire, we spotted Murgatroyds. Not that my dad and I needed an excuse to stop by for some fish and chips, but it seemed perfect to go to on this rainy summer’s day.
