Good quality fresh ingredients makes this a good place to come for burgers whether you want something meaty or vegetarian. The size of the burgers are huge and we found it difficult to finish the burgers together with the additional fries. Its nice that you are able to add more fillings to the burgers on the menu.
The Puy Lentil burger, made of puy lentils, green curry and potatoes, was very tasty and went well with houmous and aubergine. It was given a bit of sweetness with the relish. The aubergine slices were a little greasy though. We also found the breaded mushrooms on the greasy side.
The chicken burgers were made with fresh chicken breast that were breaded and fried. We got to sample the chicken in the Chicken, Avocado and Bacon burger, though we replaced the avocado with chorizo. Gourmet Burger Kitchen definitely don’t skimp on the amount of the fillings that they put in their signature burgers.
The only thing that we didn’t like about this branch of GBK was that we were given an unclean table and none of the staff came and gave it a wipe over before we were seated. The wooden seats along the back of the restaurant were also quite uncomfortable. While we were having our meal, it was nice that one of the staff came over and asked us if all of our food was ok. The waitress even remembered all the different burgers that we had ordered.
GBK do a range of milkshakes but we were stuffed to the brim so we had to pass on those. Maybe next time, we’ll just share a burger and then we can indulge in the milkshakes.
