Sakonis – Wembley

on

A chance passing by the Wembley area one early evening gave us the opportunity to grab a bite to eat at Sakonis. They have a buffet menu but we opted for food from the regular menu.

The Khichdi and Kadi was real comfort food. Buttery soft rice and lentils was a good portion. The Kadi came separately so this yogurt sauce could be added to the Khichdi. The Kadi was tangy and creamy. Such a hearty meal.

The Mogo Chips were fried pieces of cassava. They were not greasy and came with some chilli powder and tamarind chutney. The Signature Crispy Bhajiyas were slices of thin potato coated in a chickpea batter. They were fried to perfection. The Bhajiyas came with a chilli chutney and a tamarind chutney. Both the Mogo Chips and Crispy Bhajiya were very moreish.

The Masala Dosa was the classic dosa pancake. The rolled dosa was filled with a dry potato curry and had the lentil sambar and coconut chutney on the side. This dish had a lot of flavour and the potato filling was slightly spicy.

The service and staff were okay. It was a little hard to get the attention of the staff once the restaurant got busy. Sakonis has a modern feel with the decor and the layout.

All in all, Sakonis gave us good food with great flavour and taste.
