Bistro Romain – Paris (Republique)

A nice and friendly restaurant which had seasonal additions to its menu. This month was the ravioli month so we decided that they should be sampled. The first time at this restaurant, we had the mint, basil, tomato and ricotta tortellini which tasted really good. We also had the grilled vegetables (aubergine, red pepper and courgette)…

Yum Cha Silks and Spice – Camden Town

We originally came to this restaurant just for tea but then decided to have some dim sum as well. It has a nice location opposite the Stables Market in Camden. There was not a great range of vegetarian steamed dim sum but we did have the vegetarian Thai spring rolls. These were crispy and not at all oily….

Cafe Francois – Paris (Bastille)

This cafe felt very light, airy and spacious. There seemed to be a few additional customers here though, the pigeons and sparrows that had flown in through the open windows and doors. There was no shortage of seating. Even though we had ordered cafe cremes (latte), the coffee was given in pots with the jug…

Cocoa Cafe – Paris (Republique)

We popped into this cafe just for coffee. The waiter was friendly and he was happy even when we said that we just wanted drinks and no food. The cafe creme (latte) was creamy and frothy. We didn’t feel rushed at this cafe and the decor was pretty cool with its purple and chocolate coloured…

Pick More Daisies – Crouch End

CLOSED DOWN   This review has been left for historical value. Come here for breakfast, lunch, dinner or coffee and cake. Its perfect for anytime of the day! To start the day, if you would like a good quality fry-up (without the atmosphere of a greasy cafe!), then try the Brits Breakfast. Their Kobe burgers…

BAR – New Haven

This has to be one of my favourite pizza restaurants. The pizzas are out of this world, freshly cooked in the brick ovens. I think it is the tomato sauce that is one of the things that makes this pizza so delicious and moreish.

Pizza Pino – Paris (Republique)

A busy pizza restaurant which uses good quality ingredients for their pizzas. We were seated for quite a while before the waiter came over to take our order. Saying that, the service was good after the order was taken. The waiter didn’t seem too impressed when we said that we just wanted to share one…

Coquelicot – Paris (Abbesses)

A short walk away from the Sacre-Coeur is this rustic bistro with its stone tiled floor and quirky decor. The staff were very friendly and the service was good.

L’institut – Paris (Cardinal Lemoine)

Just south of the River Seine is this nice bistro. Head towards the back of the bistro and it opens out into a bigger area filled with comfy chairs and sofas. Perfect for a rest and a bite to eat! The hot chocolate was good but not too rich. The jug of hot milk meant that we…
