Le Village Ronsard – Paris (Maubert-Mutualite)

on

A cafe that had a pub like atmosphere. The waiters were friendly and greeted us with a smile. It had a wide screen TV showing the news to keep you occupied.

The cafe creme (latte) was very nice. Saw some of the hot food that other customers were having and it looked of good quality.

The downfall to this cafe was that it was so close to the fish and vegetable market stalls. So every now and then, you would get the smell of fish wafting into the cafe.

We have been here many times over the years. The food is tasty, the service is prompt and polite, and the ambiance is great. It is one of our favorites, sitting right on the Place Maubert. People watching is great, especially on Tuesdays and Saturdays when the market stalls are set up right in front of the restaurant. My husband is very sensitive to fish smell, and neither of us has ever smelled fish from the market stalls.

This is somewhere I’d ideally just hangout with a coffee and newspaper. It’s got that traditional French Bistro feel to it. Great coffee and friendly waiters!
