Old Tree Bakery – Golders Green

Old Tree Bakery is a Taiwanese bakery with displays of its buns and cakes in the shop window. This bakery is a little different in the sense that it prides itself on trying to keep their products low in salt, sugar and fat.

Moeders – Amsterdam

A whole day was spent out at the world’s second largest flower garden, Keukenhof in Lisse. Even though the tulip fields were not awash with so much colour as the tulips were late blooming, there was still plenty to see at this Garden of Europe.

FreeState Coffee – Holborn

On the outside of the quaint Sicilian Avenue is FreeState Coffee. There is a good buzz and a relaxed atmosphere with this coffee shop.

Guglee – Finchley Road

After a spot of shopping and browsing, it was originally planned to go to the movies. But as there was nothing enticing on, dinner out happened instead. Even though the O2 Centre has a few eateries, we ventured further down the road to Guglee.

Darlingtons Tea Room – Nr Weedon

Darlingtons Tea Room is part of the Heart of the Shires Shopping Village. This lovely tea room serves freshly made home cooked food. If you are looking for something for breakfast, they have bacon sandwiches, beans on toast, sweet and savoury croissants.

The Colonnade – Little Venice

It was ideal to go for Afternoon Tea with my friend who had first introduced me to the special indulgent world of this British ritual many years ago. Since that day, Afternoon Tea has been one of my favourite things to do.

Coffee Dogs – Kings Cross

Trying to remember the last time that I had a hot dog made me realise that it had been many years ago. So, heading to Coffee Dogs, all the excitement was for the hot dog.

Max’s – Crouch Hill

Two figures were sat by the window and as soon as I entered Max’s, I was greeted with big cheery hellos from them. They gave me the choice to pick which table to take a seat at. Soft lighting from the quirky grey mache lampshades, wooden tables with sufficient space between them and cladded walls made up the restaurant.

Mamacoffee – Prague

When travelling or on holidays, you always seem to come across places that become your regular. That’s exactly what Mamacoffee was.
