A cold day and a hot coffee go hand in hand. The Travel Cafe is a wonderful cute cafe. Clean, spacious, exposed lighting, brick walls and the travel theme in the decor makes up the interior. There are wooden tree/log tables which add to the quirkiness.
There is soft music playing in the background with a good combination of current and new tracks. The staff provided us with polite and friendly service. They took great care in making and serving the drinks.
Coffee had to be a decaffeinated flat white. This time it was made with unsweetened almond milk. Usually, its soya milk that is the milk of choice but it was the time to explore different nut milks. The flat white was smooth and creamy with just a hint of the almond taste coming through. A very drinkable and likable coffee.
As well as the range of hot drinks, The Travel Cafe serves a healthy brunch and lunch menu. The cakes, croissants and pastries on the counter were all in covered displays. Luckily as it was a weekday, the cafe was nice and quiet. But on the weekends, it can be very busy.
The Travel Cafe was a lovely place for a catch up. The only thing that brought it down was that it was extremely cold inside the cafe. They definitely need to try to do something about heating the cafe.
