Fitting for a bistro in an airport, Dakota’s has a plane theme decor. Dakota’s is slightly tucked away upstairs in the departures area at Schiphol Airport. The Cityhopper plane can be seen from the dining area and there is also seating area outdoors.
The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The Dakota’s sandwich originally came with chicken and bacon but the staff were more than happy to make a vegetarian version. An open sandwich was made of sliced Dutch cheese, pesto, cucumber strips and lettuce all on seeded brown bread.
The Dakota’s sandwich was a lovely light lunch. It had just the right amount of pesto which was not too oily. Even though rocket is not a favourite, for this sandwich, a few of the peppery leaves worked well.
The menu at Dakota’s has hot dishes, soups, meats and salads. Dakota’s is a nice place to have a sit down meal if you don’t fancy grabbing some the signature and tasty Dutch fries also available at the airport.
