Cafe Diglas – Vienna

In the historic area of Vienna and only a short walk away from the magnificent St Stephen’s Cathedral is Cafe Diglas. The cafe is quite quirky with regards to its decor.

Appestat – Angel

Appestat has a rustic feel to its cafe. There are big wooden tables, bench like seating, window seats and cosy sofas. The area at the back is where most of the seating is. There is a lively atmosphere contributed by the music.

Vete-Katten – Stockholm

Vete-Katten has been around for over 90 years and is a well established cafe. A friend described it perfectly by saying that the entrance counter area is like a normal cafe. Then as you walk through the various seating areas and rooms, it is like walking through a big grand house through the generations.

Federale – Lugano

As Lugano is situated close to the Italian border, it does feel like you are in Italy and not in Switzerland. It still has the beautiful views of the mountains and lakes. There are plenty of piazzas, fountains, quaint streets, restaurants, gelato places and shops that make up Lugano.

La Lluna – Muswell Hill

An impromptu weekday evening out led us to dinner at La Lluna. It had come at the right time as when a day has been a bit of a trying one, the time with special close friends helps wonders.

Cafe Rouge – Oxford

Cafe Rouge had a European feel to it. There was the classic red and dark wooden theme with big etched mirrors on the wall. Huge windows could be opened on a hot day and hence there would be plenty of fresh air coming into the restaurant.

Van Speyk – Amsterdam

Van Speyk was extremely busy. It was lucky to be able to get a table quickly after intially being told that there was a 40 minute wait.

Gail’s – Highgate

It was one of those days where it was lucky to have the sun come out. So a walk around Waterlow Park was wonderful. It was made even better to be able to see all the fragrant flowers and to take in the relaxing scent of the lavender by Lauderdale House.

Safari Narrowboat Tearoom – Manchester

If you like the tranquillity and beauty that our great British waterways have to offer, then I’m certain you’ll appreciate this little gem we recently discovered on Droyslden Marina.
