Chakri are fried spiral savoury snacks. This version is using the chakri flavours and making them into baked crackers.
Recipe (low sugar, salt free, oil free):
Makes 10,
Spelt flour – 1/4 cup
Rye flour – 1/8 cup
Rice flour – 1/8 cup
Fat free plain yogurt – 3tbsp
Ajwain seeds – 1/4tsp
Sesame seeds – 1/4tsp
Amchoor powder – 1/2tsp
Cracked black pepper – 1/8tsp
Ginger minced – 1tsp
Green chillies minced – 1/4tsp
Lemon juice – 1tsp
Lemon marmalade – 1/4tsp
Oven temperature 180°C
Air fryer temperature 180°C
Mix all of the ingredients together to form a dough. Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes. Once the dough has rested, knead for 5 minutes. Split the dough into 10 pieces. Roll each piece into a small disc. Place the cracker discs onto a baking tray or sheet.
For the oven, bake for 12 minutes turning them over after 8 minutes.
For the air fryer, bake for 6 minutes, turning them over after 4 minutes.
