Multigrain Puri Crackers

on

Puris are usually fried but this version is baked. Crispy edges with a softer middle make these puri crackers a tasty snack.

Recipe (oil free, salt free):
Makes 5 puris,
Wholewheat chapatti flour – 1/4 cup
Spelt flour – 1/8 cup
Buckwheat flour – 1/8 cup
Kasuri methi – 1/4 cup
Cumin seeds – 1/4tsp
Ajwain/carom seeds – 1/8tsp
Onion powder – 1/2tsp
Cracked black pepper – 1/8tsp
Fat free natural yogurt – 2tbsp

Oven temperature 180°C
Gently rub the kasuri methi, ajwain seeds and cumin seeds between the palms of your hands to release the flavour of these ingredients. Mix together with the rest of the dry ingredients. Add the yogurt and make it into a dough. Knead for a few minutes. Split the dough into five pieces. The dough will be sticky so roll each piece into discs between parchment paper. Make several light horizontal slits on each piece. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes.
