Baked beans and mixed vegetables are combined with a Creole spice blend to make the patties.
Recipe (salt free, oil free):
Makes 3 patties,
Creole spice blend:
Paprika – 2tbsp
Dried thyme – 2tbsp
Smoked paprika – 1tbsp
Onion granules – 1tbsp
Garlic powder – 1tbsp
Dried basil – 1tbsp
Baked beans, rinsed – 3tbsp
Frozen mixed veg – 2tbsp
Tomato puree – 1tbsp
Oat flour – 1tbsp
Buckwheat flour -2tbsp
Creole spice blend – 1tsp
Make the Creole spice blend by mixing all of the spices together.
Mix all of the ingredients together. Add just enough water to bring the mixture together. Heat a frying pan. Place spoonfuls of the bean mixture into the pan to make 3 discs. Cook on a low heat covered for a few minutes. Once the patties are crispy on one side, flip over. Cook the other side until crispy.
